Open-access proceedings available online for joint conference - ISES Solar World Congress 2017 and IEA Solar Heating and Cooling conference
The International Solar Energy Society (ISES) and the IEA Solar Heating and Cooling Programme (IEA SHC) are delighted to announce that the proceedings of their joint conference “Solar World Congress (SWC 2017) and the Solar Heating and Cooling for Buildings and Industry Conference (SHC 2017)” are now available online. The proceedings also include papers presented at the "7th International Workshop on Solar Air Conditioning (SAC)".
With the support of conference host, Masdar Institute, part of the Khalifa University for Science and Technology, nearly 500 renewable energy practitioners, researchers, project developers, academics, decision makers and advocates representing 58 countries gathered at this successful joint conference in Abu Dhabi during the week of 29 October – 2 November 2017.
The proceedings are now available on the website: http://proceedings.ises.org/. All papers are open-access, searchable and downloadable.
ISES, IEA SHC and Masdar Institute wish to thank all the volunteer reviewers in the SWC 2017 / SHC 2017 Technical Program Committee who dedicated many hours to completing the blind peer review process, resulting in a very high quality publication. The committee was co-chaired by ISES and IEA SHC.
Manuel Romero, Technical Program Committee Co-Chair for ISES says “ISES continues to strengthen its proceedings database with the publication of this new edition corresponding to the SWC 2017 / SHC 2017. The 247 articles selected by the Technical Program Committee provide an excellent testimony and update to the achievements of our solar community at ISES and IEA SHC. The conference proceedings are, without any doubt, a publication I would highly recommend to consult and reference.”
Daniel Mugnier, Technical Program Committee Co-Chair for IEA SHC and SAC Chair comments “The joint conference, combining ISES and IEA SHC inputs, led to a very interesting scientific and technical event in Abu Dhabi. The Technical Program Committee co-chairing between ISES and IEA SHC worked very well so as to extract the best values from the different scientific papers. Now, the much anticipated proceedings are online and leave a strong mark on the current state-of-the-art, in terms of research in the field of solar energy for the next years”
As the world moves toward a total decarbonization of its energy supply, the proceedings resulting from the joint conference have highlighted the diverse technologies that are already cost effective and commercially available to work together to achieve a 100% global renewable energy system.
About
The ISES Solar World Congress, SWC 2017, has been held biennially since 1970, promoting technological advances and deployments of renewable energy systems, especially solar systems. The Solar Heating and Cooling for Buildings and Industry Conference, SHC 2017, is the leading international conference covering renewable energy technologies addressing the heating and cooling sector, which accounts for over 40% of the world’s final energy consumption.
